Túmbame la Pajita

Dempsey and Firpo (Bellows, 1924)

Fuck you
and your newfound sense
of  faux coolness.
Your bitterness telegraphs
the next move.
A bad chess player,
an even worse boxer.
I can kick your ass
in a fight
'cause I'm happy,
unapologetically satisfied,
light on my feet,
not afraid
of being afraid;
aware of my surroundings.
Strong, cognizant
of my weaknesses;
verbose, dexterous
and equipped with purple prose.

Tira pa' lante, papá.
